Scams and Red flags.

Scammers are getting more sophisticated every day, making it harder to tell the difference between legitimate communication and fraud. Whether it’s a phone call, email, or online message, there are common red flags to look out for that can help you stay safe.

1. Unsolicited Contact
If you receive a call, email, or message from someone you don’t know, be cautious. Scammers often pose as banks, government agencies, or even relatives in distress to gain your trust.

2. Urgency and Fear Tactics
Scammers want you to act fast without thinking. If someone is pressuring you to provide information or send money immediately, take a step back. Legitimate organizations will never threaten you with arrest, account closure, or loss of benefits over the phone.

3. Requests for Personal or Financial Information
Never share sensitive details like your Social Security number, passwords, or banking information over the phone or email. If in doubt, contact the company directly using an official phone number from their website.

4. Too-Good-To-Be-True Offers
Did you receive a message saying you won a lottery you never entered? A job offer that pays thousands for little work? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

By staying alert to these red flags, you can protect yourself and your loved ones from falling victim to scams.
